PAT-Talk 5: SPSF Students Bring Ancient Wisdom to Life

Silang, Cavite – November 12, 2024 – The Saint Paul Seminary Foundation (SPSF) campus buzzed with philosophical energy yesterday as students from the Western Philosophy I class presented their research on the enduring relevance of Plato’s dialogues. The presentations marked the successful conclusion of the 5th season of PAT-Talk (Philosophy Alive Today), a series showcasing student scholarship.

Guided by Professor Ben Carlo Atim, the students delved into Plato’s timeless wisdom, demonstrating its continued resonance in contemporary discussions on a wide range of topics, from religion and politics to education and societal development. Their insightful analyses explored how Plato’s ideas continue to inform our understanding of the good life, the nature of knowledge, and the pursuit of justice.ag raising ceremony signaling the start of the second semester on January 9, 2023.

  • “Appointed Son of God?”: Examining Apollo-Euthyphro Dialogue Through Plato’s Euthyphro
  • Living the Virtues: A Platonic Exploration in the Formation of Priests and Consecrated Persons
  • Is Justice the Foundation of a Good Life and a Just and Harmonious Society? A Platonic Perspective

The event, held in the Tanghalang Timoteo Giaccardo auditorium, was free and open to the public. Attendees were treated to a thought-provoking afternoon of philosophical exploration.
