SPSF and San Beda University Students to Explore Creative Expression at “KathâRungan”
Silang, Cavite – February 12, 2025 – Saint Paul Seminary Foundation (SPSF) and San Beda University are collaborating to present “KathâRungan: Mga Malikhaing Kathâ sa Karunungang Pangpilosopiya at Pangkasaysayan” (Exploring Creative Expressions in Philosophy, Literature, and History) on February 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the SPSF campus.
Organized by SPSF students under the classes of Dr. James Piscos and Bro. Hansel Mapayo, SSP, in partnership with the San Beda Literature and Languages Department and the San Beda English and Literature Society, this event promises a dynamic exploration of the interplay between creativity, philosophy, history, and literature. “KathâRungan” will feature insightful presentations by distinguished guest speakers Dr. Larry Ambion, Ph.D., and Dr. Rowena Rivero, Ph.D., both from the Language Department at San Beda University. Dr. Ambion and Dr. Rivero will share their expertise on various topics related to language, history, and their intersection with creative expression.
The event program includes a morning session dedicated to plenary talks by Dr. Ambion and Dr. Rivero, followed by a synthesis and Q&A session for attendees to engage directly with the speakers. An Agape lunch will offer an opportunity for fellowship and further discussion. The afternoon session will shift to student presentations, showcasing cultural and literary performances by students from both SPSF and San Beda University. An open mic segment will then provide a platform for attendees to share their own creative works, encouraging active participation and artistic expression.
“KathâRungan” also serves as a prelude to the 4th Philosophy, Communication & Culture (PCC) Conference, to be hosted by SPSF from February 28 to March 1, 2025. This collaboration between SPSF and San Beda University highlights their shared commitment to interdisciplinary learning and fostering intellectual discourse.
