On June 20, 2025, the Saint Paul Seminary Foundation held its annual academic orientation for both new and continuing seminarians, followed by the official election of the Student Council officers for the academic year 2025–2026. The event took place at the Tanghalang Timoteo Giaccardo Auditorium and began at 3:00 PM. It was hosted by Sem. Rhexelle Andrei Abdon and Sem. Ryan Pinzon, who guided the community through the program.
The event opened with a prayer led by Sem. Carl Vincent, the former SPSF Vice-President, followed by the singing of the Philippine national anthem. Words of welcome and encouragement were then shared by Rev, Fr. Norman Melchor Peña, SSP, the Dean and Rector of the institution.

The academic orientation began with Mrs. Virgie Amon Canilang, who warmly welcomed the seminarians and introduced her role as the School Registrar. She emphasized the importance of proper decorum, submission of required documents, and timely compliance to avoid complications throughout the year.
Following her, Mrs. Ria Villamayor, the seminary librarian, addressed the assembly. Soft-spoken yet articulate, she explained the scope of her duties and highlighted the library’s extensive collection. In addition to Philosophy and Mass Communication resources, the library offers a wide range of materials including fiction, scientific texts, academic journals, and general reference books that support holistic formation and intellectual development.
With the orientation concluded, the Student Council Election commenced. The following seminarians were elected into office:
President: Sem. Rhexelle Andrei Abdon (SSP)
Vice President: Sem. Frank Jones Balaba (SSP)
Secretary: Sem. Jeffrey Bajenting (MSFS)
Treasurer: Sem. Wildred Bensig (SMA)
Socio-Cultural Officer: Sem. John Bert (SSP)
Sports Officer: Sem. Andriel Angelo Eiman (SSP)

The event ended on a high note as the entire seminary community stood to sing the school hymn, “Seedbed of Love,” a fitting reminder of their shared mission and brotherhood. The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected Student Council is scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2025, where the officers will be formally sworn in and entrusted with their responsibilities for the year ahead.
