The Saint Paul Seminary Foundation (SPSF) joyfully celebrated the Feast of Saint Paul the Apostle with a meaningful day filled with prayer, fun, and brotherhood.
The program began with a short prayer at the SPSF Gymnasium, followed by the opening remarks from the Seminary Rector and Dean of Studies, Rev. Fr. Norman Melchor PeΓ±a, SSP, Ph.D., who warmly welcomed everyone and reflected on the life and mission of Saint Paul the Apostle.
To kick off the festivities, the community joined a lively zumba session led by selected seminarians, followed by a calming Shibashi exercise guided by Br. Hansel Mapayo, SSPβan energizing way to start the day before diving into the games.
Seminarians and formators were divided into three groups for friendly competitions. The first game, βDancing Ballββa fun twist on dodgeballβbrought laughter and energy to the court, followed by the classic Three-Legged Race. The excitement continued with a spirited game of volleyball, bringing out the competitive yet brotherly spirit of the community.
Later in the morning, the entire community gathered at the Chapel of the Conversion of Saint Paul for the Holy Mass, honoring their patron. The Eucharistic celebration served as the spiritual heart of the day, a moment to reflect on Saint Paulβs unwavering faith and his mission of evangelization, which continues through the societyβs apostolate in the media and means of social communication.
At noon, everyoneβincluding guests and visitorsβshared a meal at the SPSF Refectory, fostering not only a feast of food but also a feast of fellowship, gratitude, and joy in honor of their patronβs feast day.
After a short break, the much-anticipated basketball game brought the community back together, with teams playing with passion, skill, and a deep sense of brotherhood.
The celebration was a beautiful blend of prayer, joy, and unityβsimple in form but grand in spiritβas the seminary community honored Saint Paul the Apostle, Preacher of Truth and Doctor of the Gentiles.
